Job - House of Commons Energy Adviser

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

House of Commons Energy Adviser (Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology):
https://housesofparliament.tal.net/vx/l ... tings/2851

As Energy Adviser you will support the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) in providing independent and balanced analyses to both Houses of Parliament on public policy issues with a basis in science and technology, especially those related to energy systems and climate change mitigation.

Within your role you’ll be researching and compiling briefing material, drawing on external advice and expertise, to analyse a wide range of subjects in science and technology policy. Recent examples of research and briefing materials the team have worked on include: Sustainable Cooling, Heat networks, Marine Renewables, Bioenergy and Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Climate Change and Aviation and Developments in Wind Power.

The successful candidate will provide assistance to the parliamentary select committees as requested, e.g. by providing written or oral briefings on energy and climate change related topics.

Prior experience in the Big 6 energy suppliers probably a prerequisite so they won't hear anything that they don't get from their industry lobbyists. No change there very soon then!!

You're probably correct, but can't see anywhere where it actually says that ??

It's all part of the Prostitute State, the revolving door between the top of the civil service and industry. It doesn't have to be specified, it's just the way things are! It's why lobbyists pay out to political parties and politicians.
