Several towns have also burned out completely. What struck me was the proximity of the houses to each other and the fact that they are built entirely of wood. UK houses that close to each other would have to have a non flammable cladding to the adjacent walls to stop the spread of fire. It didn't look as if that was the case in Oregon.
Yes that is the standard construction here. Even top end houses that have a brick or stone facing use it only as a veneer over the weight bearing wooden wall. Much of the siding today is vinyl plastic formed to look like wooden clapboards. That also burns quite readily once it reaches it's melting point.
Aluminum siding was used back in the fifties but has fallen out of favor on the theory it holds the heat in during a fire and makes it harder for firemen to put a blaze out.

Fake news, obviously

He is winning at the moment by 48 to 44 at 02-00 GMT Though these early results may not be an accurate forecast of the overall result.

(in UK general elections, early results tend to favour the Labour party to a greater extent than is reflected in the final result)

EDIT TO ADD, a very few minutes later, Trump is losing by 48 to 73.

I think the result is looking a lot closer than the polls suggested. Trump will definitely declare victory tonight

Just admit it.

The entire, Western, capitalist, Anglo-Saxon axis of the world (USA, UK, EU, AUS and NZ) is and has been run by the globalist flank of the ruling class for several decades now (which just so happens to be the same axis that is currently employing all of the draconian limits to civil liberties on the back of "Covid19. Funny that... isn't it) and though someone like Trump or something like Brexit has trounced the globalists in the legislatures, the globalists still have their people running the show in all of the other pillars of the state that voters can not directly influence. These include things such as the judiciary and the media.

For the last four years, both here and in America, there has been nothing short of an attempted coup on the legislatures in both the US and UK in an effort to deny the democratic will of the people that has included lies and distortions worthy of the dying days of the Soviet era. This may be said irrespective of one's own political views. Indeed, being capitalists, neither Biden nor Trump would have got my vote had I been an American and had an alternative choice. But, given that many Americans do not have another choice, they can not be blamed for voting for Trump over Biden.

Meanwhile that which laughably refers to itself as the mainstream "Left", both here and in America, continues to ally with the globalists and continues to get its ass whipped in the legislatures when ever the proletariat get a chance to influence things. It really would be quite hilarious if it was not so pathetic and tragic.

Has Trump won this election? Too early to tell yet. But, it is looking more likely by the hour and it is certainly the case that the "polls" are based on bullshit and lies.

At present, Trump is loosing, by a small margin but still loosing.
It seems however that he has declared victory, and that at least one other country (Slovenia) has congratulated Trump on his victory.
He may well yet win, but it seems premature to announce this until enough results are declared to make victory certain. (there is no need to wait for EVERY vote, but enough)

Trump made it clear he was going to Declare victory even before any votes were counted. Trump decided months ago he was going to be the next tenant of the Whitehouse. The only question was how many people he could bully or bribe to agree with him. As far as he is concerned who the people voted for is irrelevant.

Most would be tyrants who declare themselves the victor when they are clearly not usually have the armed forces on side. I would think that the US armed forces would be only too pleased for the chance to boot Trump out of the White House should he try to usurp power. He's not done anything to try to keep them onside since he got into office.

Biden has "flipped Wisconsin". Apparently this means Trump has no realistic chance of winning now.

Trump has demanded a recount and I do not blame him. This election was rigged in every way, from the mainstream media campaign to the postal voting bullshit.

It does appear that Trump is not going to win this but if it had not been for the coronavirus I think he would have romped home. Looks like there will be a 'Sleepy' Joe at the helm and all the implications that may have.

Australian media outlets are saying that his spat with the now deceased John McCain lost him Arizona as well.

While I don't think Trump would have ever won the popular vote he could have won the electoral college were it not for his (and everyone else's in the US) bungling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Cue the lawyers...

If you believe Trump's claims that the election was rigged then you really have lost the plot.

If are implying that the globalist flank of the Western capitalist ruling class have not done literally everything in their power to enact what functionally amounts to a coup in the legislatures of both the US and UK over the course of the last 4 years, then you are either as thick as pigshit or a liar.

I'm going with liar.
