Bullshit. My dad has been in hospital for a week in James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough after losing the sight in one eye, losing half of the sight in the other and then suffering a heart attack from the complications arising
directly as a result of lock-down.
Today, he decided he'd had enough and discharged himself and I went to pick him up. He made a choice. To die at home with his family round instead of a f***ing ward,
half empty of patients and full of staff who are well aware this is all bullshit but who are too scared to speak out for fear of the consequences.
The doctor in charge of him asked me into his office at 6:30pm this evening to explain to me that my Dad could die if he does not stay in. I explained to him he has had enough of this bullshit where he has not been properly seen to when out of hospital, due to all of the district nursing staff doing all of their jobs on their arses by phone - when they actually bother to phone, that is - which is the reason he in in there now. And, when in there, he cannot have any visitors and is just as likely to die - but alone surrounded by strangers in masks.
That Doctor took his mask off and looked me in the eye at 6:30pm this evening and said he was sick of it himself, more sick than I could know, and that he was not alone and that he did not blame my Dad.
I have no words that I wish to repeat here about what I think of people like you Ken Neil.
Edit - Apologies, I have noticed that I mistyped East instead of West so my original post should have read "in the northwest". Kenneal-lagger.
