And of the 1 in 5...a tiny tiny minority will be sick...and of those....so on and so on right? It's a hoax folks. Tyranny reigns. The lockdown is murder.
What a loon! Last thing I heard from him, he was linking covid19 with a global depopulation conspiracy due to 'peak oil'.Little John wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa6LszZa7pgCoronavirus: You've been brainwashed (Here's how they did it)
Also, please note how on this thread we have consistently been weeks ahead of government propaganda. Go back to what we were discussing in Jan and Feb - can't accuse (many) posters here of being brainwashed.

I heard this theory on the internet that some Arabs were going to fly airliners into skyscrapers in New York. And one that the BBC was making fake videos about poison gas to incite war. You can read anything on the internet..clv101 wrote:What a loon! You keep on about co-morbidities, why ? 30-40% of UK adults have high blood pressure. 64% of UK adults are overweight or obese. There are more co-morbidities.Little John wrote:https://www.anti-empire.com/italy-says- ... ialnetworkItaly Says 96% Virus-Positive Dead Had Another Illness, 60% Had 3. Just 350 Were Under 50

Cheer up LJ, pretty soon you'll have the forum all to yourself, then you won't have to cope with all these half educated under informed halfwits invading your head space and causing upset. Viva the revolution!Little John wrote:Meanwhile CLV has conveniently failed to address any of the other links to scientists from Stanford and elsewhere.

That is complete Bull crap. Sure the average man that reaches 70 has ten years life expectancy but the Day he enters a nursing home his expectancy is just six weeks. The nursing home population has already been sorted out as the weakest of those age groups and that is what the virus finds easy to kill.clv101 wrote:And as the actuaries have pointed out, even people in the 70s and 80s with multiple comobidities can expect many years more life whereas covid kills in a few weeks. The the 'dieing with' meme is junk.
And who would want to spend another ten years in a "Home" in the first place.
There may be a language difference problem. Life expectancy in UK care homes is measured in years, not weeks.vtsnowedin wrote:That is complete Bull crap. Perhaps, for your statement to be true you would have to include all assisted living facilities many of which provide nothing more then maid service and meal preparation. Often those are entered by couples when just one needs any assistance. I'm talking about full nursing homes where patients need care from a nurse or nurse supervised staff on a round the clock basis.Catweazle wrote:There may be a language difference problem. Here is what I was referring to.
https://www.geripal.org/2010/08/length- ... t-end.htmlThe length of stay data were striking:
the median length of stay in a nursing home before death was 5 months
the average length of stay was longer at 14 months due to a small number of study participants who had very long lengths of stay
65% died within 1 year of nursing home admission
53% died within 6 months of nursing home admission
The authors also found that length of stay varied based on a number of demographic, social, and clinical factors. For instance:
men died sooner after admission than women (men had a median length of stay of around 3 months versus 8 for women)
married nursing home residents died sooner after admission than unmarried participants (an average of 4 months sooner)
nursing home residents in the highest quartile of net worth died six months sooner than those in the lowest quartile.
I watched the YouTube video with the epidemiologist from new Zealand.
The mean mortality rate from covid is the same as the average life expectancy age.
Similar areas of lockdown and non-lockdown have faired roughly the same
In China, the infection rate curve was going down before lockdown was imposed; apart from an immediate spike upwards!
The risk lowers dramatically with age. Blah. Blah, blah, etc..
Plus from recent CDC, the chances of catching it are extremely small from surface pickup. The surface might have virus on it, but not nearly enough to cause a viral infection.
Really, why ignore this stuff. That's what im not getting. People need to change their opinion to fit the current facts. And the fact is, lockdown wasn't necessary and should be swiftly lifted. Unless someone has an agenda, be it climate change or whatever, but that should be acknowledged.
I personally think this over-reaction was primarily enabled from years of progressively increasing political correctness and emotional hyperbole which was encouraged by social media. And now taken advantage of by various predators.
I'm now apologising to my parents for playing my part in this craze, and telling them to be careful but start enjoying life again. Because life is too f***ing short to hide in the house like frightened mice.
