Little John wrote:By Cummings’s own account, several media claims about what he supposedly did in the 14 days at the end of March and in early April, were false. With his wife sick with what looked like Covid19, leaving her almost unable to care for their child, with Cummings himself likely to go down with the virus and hounded within his London house by a hostile and threatening public, he drove his wife and son to a house on his parents’ farm in Durham to isolate there, with his sister and other family members leaving food on the doorstep.

Meanwhile all of the usual suspects are making all of the usual hyperbolic hyperventilating noises.

Do none of you realize how pathetic this all looks to most ordinary people?

Hey LJ, you are tripping aren't you?
No.

You don't have to like Dominic Cummings to dislike the behavior of the media outside the home of his small child.

And you don't have to not be be a gullible fool to recognize that all of the usual suspects in the bourgeois political and media class are whipping this all up into ludicrous proportions as part of a larger agenda in the ongoing cold war between two flanks of the ruling class.

But, it helps I suppose

The scene of baying journos and photographers all crowding around DC and sticking cameras etc through his car door - none of whom were social distancing, seems to be invisible to the frothing mob.

The more important news [which people don't seem to care about], is that batflu is getting less and less hazardous as data is found:

https://www.zerohedge.com/health/cdc-co ... -realities

The lockdown is ever more unnecessary, outside of urban areas, crowds and medical situations. I still think the dose of infection seems a main factor in outcome, or repeated doses close together maybe?

Says:
the CDC has attempted to offer a real estimate of the overall death rate for COVID-19, and under its most likely scenario, the number is 0.26%.
UK has had ~60,000 deaths, if the death rate was only 0.26%, we must have had 23 million cases or 35% of the population. Don't buy it.

Dominic Cummings - why different ?
Classic case of 'do as I say, not as I do' and the arrogance of power and entitlement...
Completely different.

Dr Catherine Calderwood, Scotland's CMO resigned because she took a jolly to her second home.

Prof' Neil Ferguson resigned because he encouraged his girlfriend to break the lockdown because he wanted a shag.

Cummings followed the guidance and put the safety of his child because there was a disgusting baying mob filled with animus outside his home. He was allowed to remove his family to a place of safety.

I would have done the same thing. As would you if you were honest.

Cobblers.
Found the specific criminal offence yet?
I'm not going to get into a nit-picking loophole contest with you, my "common man" interpretation is that if something is illegal, like breaking health protection regulations, it is against the law.
That's fine, but when you said he committed a crime.

I'll take that as hyperbole, a rant, a slur, saying it because you don't like the person and nothing else.

What do you think of this article?
https://www.zerohedge.com/health/nothin ... ples-lives

Three points for your opinion

1/ Death rate and latitude

2/ in effect double counting of deaths ( was going to die of heart disease in 6 months anyway, but the cause is ascribed to covid)

3/ Social media snowball effect on hysteria.

I have no position on this but as someone who follows the science closely, your opinion is valued.

Be serious. You are clearly a big Cummings FanBoy, I'm not bothered about him either way. I really don't care about him.

What I do care about, and what some FanBoys have claimed to care passionately about, is democracy. We elect our leaders and allow them to make rules which we must obey, for the common good. In return, we expect them to follow the rules too.

A fun drive out to a castle with the family does not fall within the rules. I argue that neither does fleeing London to a remoter destination. Gov't banned people from fleeing to their second homes, my own son was unable to bring his family to stay in our detached guest cottage which would have been a lot nicer for them than being stuck in London.

Cummings is toast:

https://www.newstatesman.com/science-te ... oronavirus

He claimed in his hour-long excuse yesterday that he'd been warning about coronaviruses for years, and now it turns out he's been caught editing old blog posts to add bits about coronaviruses. The guy is a liar of the worst sort, and a bit of an idiot for not realising he'd get caught. This finishes him.

Are you are back on with the 'broke the rules' claim.

Again, which law or regulation did he break.

Also, would you pack it in with the fanboy abuse? If you cannot make or substantiate a point, best to keep quiet.

Right, so cannot get him on the committed a crime thing, so the media, political enemies, church, police (40% pay cut since year 2010) have changed tack.

They may get him. But we know this is an orchestrated stich up.

It couldn't just be then that Cummings is just a dick and got caught out being a a dick?
I don't have any particular axe to grind here, but he did walk straight in to this. He was there making rules, he then decided they didn't apply to himself. I don't see it be being deeper than that. It's not about left/right or whatever, he cocked up, and got jumped on. Not like he couldn't have predicted this is where it would end up.

I'm surprised you Brits have spent so much time and energy debating this lackey and his callous actions. He is a jerk and got caught out at it. So what. move on. Don't you have something better to talk about? Like the proper way to sort a sock drawer or something?

Don't wear socks in this hot weather so not giving my sock drawer much attention at the moment. Ithink you may have the 'lackey' comment back to front though - Cummings isn't the lackey in all this.

Yes, absolutely.

Again. This is quite fundamental to this debate. Name the rule he broke.

Yes. Wasn't it obvious ?

I'll explain again.

He took his family on a 60 mile jolly to Barnard Castle and back, whilst suffering from Covid19, and by his own admission possibly unfit to drive.

That's definitely not within the spirit of the lockdown, not within the gov't guidelines, and pretty shoddy behaviour.
