UE - you play with fire.
Eurointeligence have a excellent briefing... looking like a Johnson premiership and a hard Brexit is looming.
One of the other consequences of a big victory by the BP is that the EU, who are hoping for a strong performance by pro remain parties, will freak out and decide that the UK could quite likely vote again Leave should a 2nd referendum happen.
It will strengthen those within Macron camp who call for UK to leave EU by October come what may.

Combine the UKIP and BP tallies in thr YouGov poll and it is 40 per cent. That's 40 percent for a hard Brexit.
40 percent can yield a majority in the commons. Time the Tories elect a hard brexiteer! Go Boris!!!

UKIP's percentage is counter productive. It will return no seats, but it will take potential BP voters away.Lord Beria3 wrote:Combine the UKIP and BP tallies in thr YouGov poll and it is 40 per cent. That's 40 percent for a hard Brexit.

However, I agree with you that the tory leadership election is now crucial. We need to know who is going to replace her, and what their policy will be.
So, there has been more bullshit with "protesters" with "milkshakes" today stopping Farage and the Brexit party, in a UK national election, from going about the entirely proper business of campaigning in that election. This may be seen as a political outrage irrespective of one's own personal political preferences.
Meanwhile, large sections of the fully establishment bought-up MSM and the usual suspects on social media are making out it's all rather humorous and nothing to be taken too seriously.
Bullshit.
The ruling class in this country may not have tanks on the street. But, what is being attempted to be done is a coup against the people. This kind of shutting down of democratic debate is a direct consequence of a political class that is now flagrantly disregarding the democratic will of the people on the basis of an assumed superiority. Little wonder, then, that the an intellectually challenged, hard-core proportion of the petite bourgeois Remainers in the wider population (alongside the establishment spook infested Antifa mob) are taking the hint and assuming they are at liberty to similarly ignore and attempt to subvert the democratic process. Indeed, it's fair to assume they have been deliberately encouraged/facilitated in such behavior.
This is going to end in real violence and bloodshed. We really are not far from that point now.

If you look at the link I posted in the French protests topic, you will see May has already agreed to the mechanism being used by Macron. As you say violence is a real possibility, though maybe not for the reasons that you imply.

If UKIP still exist, they would probably field candidates. I suspect their days are numbered though. They will be wiped out in these elections.Little John wrote:UKIP will not field candidates in a GE. They are almost dead in the Euro ones. So, they would not take seats from the Brexit Party in any GE.
Because once brexit is over it'll not be an issue people vote on anymore. After 6 months the majority of people will just be relieved it's over one way or the other. I do believe that the tory party CAN survive revoking article 50 if they're prepared to be in opposition for a term although it would take a skillful leader but they're most likely to get one with slightly more skills that Grayling.Lord Beria3 wrote:Why? Around 40 per cent of the public back it (enough for a majority) and if done well could lead to a economic boom.
