A sensible move by the Catalan leadership. They are likely to get more votes in prison than on the run.

A snap general election in Spain seems probable.
The minority government have lost a vote on their proposed budget.
MPs from the Catalonia region voted against the budget, partly as a protest against the lack of talks over Catalonian independence.
