Do you have an eco house or self build?

How will oil depletion affect the way we live? What will the economic impact be? How will agriculture change? Will we thrive or merely survive?

Ha! The whole frame, all joints, all notches were cut by hand. The four huge square beans were milled in the woods but that was the only fossil fuel used in frame manufacture. All erection was all done by hand, no metal in the frame at all.
Hmm, I think we have a different world view.

I totally believe in technology but only for valuable one-off uses such as building a house rather than building & running a commuter car.

So CNC buillt houses and solar cell factories are fine with me.

Computers too - but not tatty techno trinkets made by the million only to be disposed of 6 weeks later.

I agree, I'm a big fan of good technology, well used. Your CNC milling is certainly that.

Vortex, have you heard of the Dutch Energiesprong Project which is also being rolled out over here? It is an insulation project where a laser scan is taken of a house or houses and insulation is CNC milled to fit perfectly over the façade of a house.
