Merkel fears a mega-migration from Africa of up to 100m

Post by Lord Beria3 »

But it is Merkel’s compact for Africa that most animates her, according to foreign ministers that have seen her recently.

Merkel fears that long term demographic trends mean 100 m Africans could come to Europe driven by climate change, poverty, and Europe is wholly unprepared.

Combating poverty upstream in Africa as a way to stem the mass migrant flow to Europe downstream is her guiding idea. Her specific initiative is to team up African nations which have committed to economic reforms with private investors who would then bring jobs and businesses.
100 million.

Think about that.

This is what Greer warned in one of his books. During periods of a decline and collapse of a civilization, epic migrations happen which uproot and transform the populations of whole regions.

Angela Merkel has access to the best intelligence and analysis of the German state. She fears this huge mega-migration for a reason, it could happen within this century.

If even 15% (15 million) predominately young African men come to Europe, our cities, demographics and populations will be transformed within two generations. Western Europe will look increasingly black, Muslim and socially conservative.

As Nadeem warns on Market Oracle, the climate change impact on North Africa will make it inevitable that huge numbers of climate migrants will try and get too Europe in the coming decades.

http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article56515.html
The UN estimates there will be 200 million climate change refugees by 2050, or 5 times the current number. So what does that imply for a Europe that cannot cope with today's refugee crisis of 1 million per year, what is it going to be like when the crisis reaches 10 million per year and probably a lot more? And that is based on conservative climate change consequences of 2c by the end of 2100. If 5c+ happens as seems very likely then one can quadruple the number of climate change refugees! Most of whom will be wanting to migrate to 'rich' Europe.

Therefore in my honest opinion the only thing that Britain can do is to ACT FIRST by LEAVING the European Union which will enable Britain to start to implement measures that will allow Britain to best cope with the population explosion climate change migration crisis storm that is heading our way and that which will worsen with each passing year, as europeans will increasingly attempt to escape a continent that will literally be drowning to life boat Britain!

Here's an idea - when they get to Europe deport them straight away. Then the migrants will eventually get the idea that it won't work.

Although, in the early day's, deportation is a necessary strategy to delay the process, in the end it wont work because they will be increasingly heading to Europe out of desperation, not choice.

They will have nothing to lose.

Many thousands already have nothing to lose except their lives. Which they do crossing the Mediterranean.

I quite agree.

But it is going to get a lot worse than that. There will be, in due course, many hundreds of millions heading this way as equally, if not more desperate. If one accepts that analysis, the only pertinent question is this:

What is the point at which you would say enough is enough and put in place measures designed to stop further inward migration and are there any measures you would not put in place even if they may be effective.

In other words, what are you prepared to do to stop this part of the world becoming as f***ed as the part of the world these wretched people will be fleeing from?

The above is a genuine question and I would appreciate an honest answer.

I can give you my honest answer. It is that I would be prepared to do whatever it took with no qualification.

Certainly steps could be taken to put off these migrants.

However, once the north African water aquifers run out, the climate change accelerates and it gets to the point that you can't sustain life in most of habitable northern Africa, these people will go to Europe because they have nothing to lose.

For Britain, it might be the only case to accept that most of southern and western Europe is finished (eastern Europe might save itself through a new Iron Curtain backed by the might of the Russian army) and ensure that the migrants don't cross the Channel.

Fortress Britain. Not so different from the prescient Children of Men movie.

I was thinking this myself. Common decency makes you feel sorry for these people - they're doing what you or I would do in the same situation.

I don't know what the answer is, of course.

I do know we're at least partly, if not largely, to blame (excessive fossil fuels consumption, CAP, exploitation, slavery etc etc). Yet we continue to do nothing positive which would help them stay where there are or move to a more suitable location; all thoughts/actions are negative, i.e. how to repel them.

There is nothing positive that can be done E.

The only thing that will make any difference over the longer term is a significant reduction in the human population since that is what lies at the heart of all of our problems.

That reduction needs to be voluntary. But, we both know it wont be.

Things can be done but they'd be too late. Ending export subsidies (and reforming CAP is essential), bringing in TEQs to reduce global warming exacerbation, dealing with dictatorships and corruption, ending military adventures etc. All should have been done donkeys' ago.

100m simply isn't possible for europe to absorb without falling apart - look at what's happening with far smaller numbers.

Much as I hate to say it, while there are european navies, air forces and armies the med will become a floating graveyard for north africans in this scenario.

The number of migrants crossing into Europe from Africa will be in the millions within five years unless urgent action is taken, a senior EU official has warned.

Antonio Tajani, president of the European Parliament, has said the scale and severity of the migrant crisis is being underestimated and must be tackled urgently.

In an interview with Il Messagero newspaper, Mr Tajani said there would be an exodus ‘of biblical proportions that would be impossible to stop if we don’t confront the problem now’.

‘Population growth, climate change, desertification, wars, famine in Somalia and Sudan. These are the factors that are forcing people to leave.
‘When people lose hope, they risk crossing the Sahara and the Mediterranean because it is worse to stay at home, where they run enormous risks. If we don’t confront this soon, we will find ourselves with millions of people on our doorstep within five years.
More and more of these warnings popping up... looks like a mega-migration storm looming for Europe.

You don't have to be "left" or "right" to have a view on this issue.

You just have to decide if you want a future for yourself and your children.

In other words, this will be, soon enough, no longer about "politics". It will be about survival.

This is one of the reasons why our foreign aid budget can't and shouldn't be cut. Maybe it should be more carefully targeted, but cut? No!
