USA presidential elections 2016

Trump did not make the stresses in the real world. He is simply acknowledging their existence and promising to directly deal with them. He is, apart from Sanders, the only politician doing the above. This can all be said irrespective of whether one agrees with his policies or not.
Trump is, of course, creating stresses in the political world. But, this is because the existing body politic is unwilling to deal with those real world stresses I mentioned. No wonder then, that body politic, which serves the existing economic status quo, does not like what Trump or Sanders have been doing since they both represent a direct threat to the status quo on which those in the body politic have all grown fat.

Of course he cannot be trusted and many of his promises may be hollow. That does not change what I have just written. In other words, despite his noise and bluster, Trump is of secondary interest. What is of primary interest is the change that has occurred in the electorate that they would consider voting for a Trump or a Sanders.woodburner wrote:Bear in mind that trump is a well practiced liar (the others might well be) and cannot be trusted.
Trump, Sanders, Corbyn;...these are all placeholders for what comes next.

John Pilger: Silencing America as it prepares for war
John Pilger wrote: The election of Trump or Clinton is the old illusion of choice that is no choice: two sides of the same coin. In scapegoating minorities and promising to “make America great again”, Trump is a far right-wing domestic populist; yet the danger of Clinton may be more lethal for the world.
“Only Donald Trump has said anything meaningful and critical of US foreign policy,” wrote Stephen Cohen, emeritus professor of Russian History at Princeton and NYU, one of the few Russia experts in the United States to speak out about the risk of war.
In a radio broadcast, Cohen referred to critical questions Trump alone had raised. Among them: why is the United States “everywhere on the globe”? What is NATO’s true mission? Why does the US always pursue regime change in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Ukraine? Why does Washington treat Russia and Vladimir Putin as an enemy?
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools - Douglas Adams.

I wonder if the US voters will read this
And while Trump has had a few successes in business, most of his ventures have been disasters.
Trump boasted when he announced his candidacy last year that he had made his money “the old-fashioned way,” but he is no Bill Gates or Michael Bloomberg, self-made billionaires who were mavericks, innovators in their fields. Instead, the Republican nominee’s wealth is Daddy-made. Almost all of his best-known successes are attributable to family ties or money given to him by his father.

Agreed, that is the key point.Little John wrote:Of course he cannot be trusted and many of his promises may be hollow. That does not change what I have just written. More...........http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1902.htmFueling President Obama’s concern that the Clinton’s may be planning to kill Trump, this report says, are the over 90 suspicious deaths of their political enemies linked to them over the past nearly 30 years, as well as new polling showing that should this New York billionaire continue his campaign to become the next American President he would very likely defeat Hillary.

I don't think he has done anything other than he has been doing previously. All that has happened is the MSM, given the coronation of Clinton, around which they can now rally, have finally got their act together and are going for Trump on steroids.
I think he may still win despite this. On the other hand, if he doesn't win then his political replacement in five or so year's time, will make him look like a pussy cat by comparison
