From what i've seen, it looks to me like it's grumpy old men/women against overly optimistic youngsters. Personally i think the younger generations have very much a rosy outlook, and are easily swayed by speak of 'recovery' and 'economic prosperity', whilst the older folks see long term trends of hardship and reject such ideas. People go on about the patriotism of the older agegroups, but i think they just suspect that the capitalist system is starting to splutter and that we're better off pulling up the drawbridge.

The grumpy old man/woman syndrome is because us grumpy old men/women have seen enough of the press, politics and politicians and been lied to so many times that we trust them less than a second hand car salesman or an estate agent. They are fresh out of school where they have been fed the curriculum idea of what the country is about. Young people do not have enough experience of life and so are very gullible and believe what they are told which is, of course why many politicians want to give 16 year olds the vote and is exactly why they shouldn't have it.mr brightside wrote:From what i've seen, it looks to me like it's grumpy old men/women against overly optimistic youngsters. From my own , admittingly small , experience talking to others I've noticed that self employed people are also far more likely to say vote to leave whereas their employed peers are more likely to vote remain.mr brightside wrote:From what i've seen, it looks to me like it's grumpy old men/women against overly optimistic youngsters.

Articles like that are basically saying that the UK can negotiate its own TTIP and equivalent with the South American countries and that those negotiations will give us £2.5 billion more trade. Yes, we might get more trade but it would be to our disadvantage as we would lose all our job protection legislation to enable our traders to compete with the foreign labour markets.AutomaticEarth wrote:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05 ... -billions/
The "Free" Trade agreements are just an introduction of industrial anarchy enabling corporations to do what they want, where they want with no responsibility for the havoc that they will wreak and at no tax cost to themselves.
I have no idea which way to vote at the moment because we are under siege by the multinational corporations and both sides seem to be supported by them. I do not know whether it is a deliberate ploy to confuse us or whether the whole referendum debate is a ploy to cover the final TTIP negotiation and implementation and a vote doesn't matter because the corporations will get TTIP or it equivalent which ever way we vote.
I hate corporations. Evil bastards!!

Whereas Boris, Farage, Gove, Lawson, Galloway, and my uncle Jack....woodburner wrote:Vote "leave".
Reason - call-me-Dave says "remain". He and the truth never exist in the same space.
Basically, if you are a far-right, racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic, climate-change denying, Little Englander neo-natzi then vote leave to return to a non-existent Golden Age of British Empire.
At it again I see. You just can't help yourself can you, you sad bugger. If you can't make people agree with you, then they are all fascists...right...?biffvernon wrote:Whereas Boris, Farage, Gove, Lawson, Galloway, and my uncle Jack....woodburner wrote:Vote "leave".

Biff, if we'd called you the opposite of half those names you would have thrown your rattle out of the pram and demanded a retraction and apology!biffvernon wrote:Whereas Boris, Farage, Gove, Lawson, Galloway, and my uncle Jack....woodburner wrote:Vote "leave".

Lots of folks voting to leave are not climate-change denying, nor are they necessarily racist / xenophobic / Islamophobic. Btw what's a neo-natzi?

Decision confirmed then, Biff has demonstrated that the remain group has little substance, and no grip on reality. PS Nazi doesn't have a 't' in it. Thanks for the help BiffLittle John wrote:At it again I see. You just can't help yourself can you, you sad bugger. Isn't it the case that there are already a large number of jobs taken by eastern Europeans? There may be reasons why, such as harder working, lower pay, but there are also quite a few pick-pocket gangs that the UK is powerless to prevent coming.
Terry Leahy, I think presided over a time of tax avoidance and mis-reporting profits, (or have I got it wrong?) and made loads-a-munny.
Ian Cheshire's corner shop sells huge amounts of glyphosate weed killer and neonicotineoid insecticide, and made loads-a-munny.
So that's alright then.
