That might and should secure him the Democratic nomination but would probably cost him the Presidency in the fall. Your not going to carry Texas,Oklahoma, North Dakota Pennsylvania or Ohio with that position. Between them they hold 88 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win.emordnilap wrote:This really ought to settle the matter of the presidency:

I didn't say it would win him the presidency. Politics has no room for sanity. It merely settles the matter of who should win.vtsnowedin wrote:That might and should secure him the Democratic nomination but would probably cost him the Presidency in the fall. I don't know of a person who should win. Certainly none of those who have run for it this time.

The article explains in further detail why he thinks Trump is in a far stronger position than the conventional pundits think.
You may think that this writer is mad but I also think that a Reagan style GE landslide is a possibility for Trump in November. This is the strongest position Trump has been in since he announced. The chess board is all set for him to win the nomination and then go on to a landslide in the general.

Trump's done it!!!
The snooty media and political elite said that he could never win the Republican nomination but he just has.
All he needs to do now is pivot to the centre and defeat Clinton in November. Despite what the experts are saying that is very doable.

It will be interesting to see how he conducts himself from now on, ie whether he'll carry on with his bluster, or whether quieten down a bit, and attack Clinton on her weak points, ie Benghazi emails....Lord Beria3 wrote:Trump's done it!!!

I don't think it is that simple. It would come down to his choice of running mate and how well he could articulate his plans for reforming the American economic structure. The fact that he sees (at least some of ) the problem and has thought about corrective action for decades places him miles ahead of "We are going to win Huge" and "I feel the pain of the coal miners I just put out of work".
