Is it really hard to fathom why many people despise the US?

There are plenty of farmers who will let you shoot deer, squirrels and pigeons on their land for nothing more than the occasional animal for the freezer and in many cases for nothing at all. I had about twenty five deer shot on my land and received a couple of carcases in payment.

This evening a walked down my drive, about 400m, with a roe deer standing in the middle of the adjacent field about 150m away watching me all the way. The buggers are still almost tame! If it does it again in a couple of months I'll be back home for the gun and shoot it myself.

I have hunted on a large farm where they estimate the deer are eating ten percent of the crop. The owner calls them "those wretched creatures" and has up to twenty invited hunting guest in to thin them each fall.
I must say that soybean fed deer are quite tasty and tender.

There is, to my mind, a world of ethical difference between shooting animals whose populations have grown to pestilential levels and/or for the purpose of eating them and shooting animals for fun. The 12th is all about fun, (though grouse on toast is quite nice).

Ruffed grouse breast sliced thin and sautéed in butter with mushrooms is on my favorites list. The season here starts the last Saturday in September.

I think this thread is not against American people in general, but rather the crazys at the top of the power elite, including the decisions they make.....

Yeah, I'd hate to live in a country where the government feels it can throw its weight around on the world stage with impunity, is in hock to its corporate masters and is happy to watch the social fabric of the country disintegrating around it.

Sorry VT, absolutely agree that the US Marines (and a UK IT consultant) done a great job on preventing a bloodbath on the train. I was more mentioning that Americans should not kill fellow Americans.....

Yes certainly.
It shows again sadly how much work needs to be done on mental health in America. But that is quickly lost in the usual cries for gun control and this time the media is abuzz because it was two of their own and killed "ON air".
I'm sure they are worried about copycat killers.

How much intelligence does it take to work out that a clock is not a bomb? As in...you look at it, note that there aren't any explosives and conclude that it is, in fact, a clock.
