CPS - "Renewable Energy: the most expensive domestic policy disaster in modern British history"
http://www.cps.org.uk/publications/repo ... ty-market/
The article has been quoted by the Sun in order to berate renewable energy policy.

Some of the figures being quoted are simplistic and misleading, and it's looking like it's very much viewed through the lens of financial economics.
Although the suggestion that renationalisation would be one option to cut bills, does appear to make sense.

PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING: The CPS link (above) leads directly to a page containing an image of Margaret Thatcher. (Not a good start to anyone's day).
Clearly, this report has angered The Great Sky-Pixie, who this morning has taken half the Sun away as punishment.
The Sun will only return if we all read about 'How We Happened to Sell Off Our Electricity' in the first place - oh, and sacrifice a dozen or so Tories.
Mmmm... planet or market, more like. Tough choice...CPS Report wrote:You can have renewables. Or you can have the market. You cannot have both.

Strange that The Sun quoted the article in the first place then!Mr. Fox wrote:PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING: The CPS link (above) leads directly to a page containing an image of Margaret Thatcher. (Not a good start to anyone's day).

Actually, not that strange if one considers that CPS board member Andrew Knight just happens to also be a Director of News Corporation, publishers of the Sun (and Chairman of J Rothschild Capital Management, too... I guess Murdoch doesn't pay enough).
It should be noted, however, that Knight is not yet a Knight, whilst another board member is, but not the two who are a Lord. Nor is he a Marquess, a Viscountess (who is also a Lady), a ex-Tory campaign manager or an utter cockspanner called Niall.
I hope that clears up any discombobulation surrounding the issue.
