Paul and the rest of us in the know have to fight the establishment of parliamentary lobbyists who are nothing short of industry placemen turning government decisions to the benefit of the corporations and billionaires, the Kleptocrasy, who pay for our political parties. We will get nowhere until the system of paying for political parties by individual donations is scrapped. I am rapidly coming around to the idea that the electorate must pay for political parties to avoid the current system of bought and paid for government. We, the ordinary people, cannot keep up with the "donations", or should that be bribes, that come from the Kleptocrasy.

wow - good to see u back keela! :-) Sorry to hear about your health. I really hope it turns round soon for you!

I only met Paul once at Ken Neils small holding - I camped beside him and discovered a determined gentleman with lots of knowledge - wish I had got to know him more.

Well impressed with his efforts to make a difference! 8)

+1 :D

Does anyone know what's happened to Paul since his arrest?

Has he appeared in court? Has he been fined? If so, perhaps we could all contribute towards his costs.

Fined? If so, that would be a crime! :x

I'd contribute to his costs, defo.

So, is he out? He's still blogging.

Normally I'd not really support actions of this type (that fundamentally involve breaking of the law) however Mobbs has certainly researched his case and the law well and, let's be honest, is being so unusually... nice about it. The video shows him doing nothing worse in practice than talking to coppers and standing in the wrong bit of the road.

I think sometimes breaking the law and creating too much unrest could be potentially harmful to one's case and the ends do not automatically justify the means, but then your case gets heard in court and the issues gain broader attention in ways which it might not otherwise. As well as, in this case, exposing the system for what it is. I don't see any police arresting anyone but Paul Mobbs, instead of those politicians who arguably should be arrested.

'Breaking the law'. I, for one, don't accept that he did.

I might need to be be careful with this if the matter is sub judice, however I'd be inclined to agree- there's not much he's really done other than stand in an awkward place and its doubtful they can actually place a conviction. It does seem like the police in question are taking the jobsworth attitude of just trying to do him on something to put an end to the situation. This being government it may be different, but I recall some acquaintances of mine who blocked the entrance to an arms trade fair and glued themselves to the railings- and were later found not guilty. But ultimately it is up to TPTP.

Talking of climbing the railings though might have been taking things a bit far- like Mordor, one does not simply walk into Downing Street, and whilst comparisons to Mordor might be appropriate in terms of the inhabitants thereof, there are actual good reasons for that in terms of security implications. Better to make a citizen's arrest when the ministers in question are out and about, perhaps?

Aye, and I can even appreciate his use of simple web design that minimizes the use of system resources. Needs a more thorough read on my part- especially as regards the whole fracking issue as I really want to be able to understand that better.

Excellent article. Just the right amount of anger and facts.
