Oh! That's not the right one. It's document number A/HRC/WG.6/21/SWE/2, whereas the original document that wikileaks linked to in their tweet yesterday was A/HRC/WG.6/21/SWE/3 and that link appears now to be broken and the document in not in the list at http://ap.ohchr.org/documents/alldocs.aspx

Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice said to the Cheshire Cat.

This was the tweet in question, about 18.30 last evening, but the link now gives the message
Sorry, that file is unavailable

Is Sweden's Offensive Against Assange Unraveling?
Assange took refuge in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London in June 2012. He sought asylum in Ecuador, and that country granted him refugee status. However, the UK refuses to grant him safe passage out of London, so he can travel to Ecuador. Instead it has spent more than £9 million to guard the Ecuadorean Embassy. This is more than what the UK has spent on investigating its own complicity in human rights abuses in Iraq.
I hope Assange gets to sue the fụck out of both Britain and Sweden.

Yes but why would the UK has spend more on investigating its own complicity in human rights abuses in Iraq than the cost of a large carpet and sweeping brush?

Sweden blinked

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/m ... -interview
Swedish prosecutors are set to question Julian Assange in his London refuge after the lead prosecutor bowed to pressure from his lawyers, Swedish legal opinion and the courts to attempt to break the deadlock in the case.
After Snowden, does anybody even remember Julian?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-31867829
Swedish prosecutors have offered to travel to London to question Wikileaks founder Julian Assange over sex assault allegations.
A Swedish prosecutor explained the change of strategy by saying potential charges against Mr Assange would expire under the statute of limitations in August.

"My view has always been that to perform an interview with him at the Ecuadorean embassy in London would lower the quality of the interview, and that he would need to be present in Sweden in any case should there be a trial in the future," lead prosecutor Marianne Ny said in a statement.

"Now that time is of the essence, I have viewed it therefore necessary to accept such deficiencies in the investigation and likewise take the risk that the interview does not move the case forward."

That Ny bod sounds like one tough cookie.
Ms Ny is a well known feminist. For example, she is known to have said that when a woman says she has been assaulted by a man, the man ought to be detained because it is not until he is in prison that the woman may have the peace to consider whether or not she has been mistreated. Ms Ny has stated that she believes that imprisoning the man has a positive effect, "even in cases where the perpetrator is prosecuted but not convicted". It is also informative, in regards to the presumption of innocence, that she uses the term ’perpetrator’ rather than ’defendant’ or ’suspect’ in discussing criminal investigation in rape cases."
From the Justice for Assange website

Based upon what I've garnered over the last five (!) years, I'd say Assange appears innocent and would walk free of any neutral court.

If that's the case, he should sue the bejaysus out of Sweden and Britain.

There is no doubt that he has not committed any crime under UK law.

That is not to say he is entirely a nice character, but if the Swedish plan was an ad hominim attack on Assange for the (pre Snowden) Wikileaks revelations to divert attention, then they have succeeded beyond any reasonable expectation.

However, now he is an irrelevant sideshow. He has been out of the MSM long enough to quietly let him go. In the public mind he is that nasty piece of work running from a rape convection, not a shining knight of freedom like Snowden.

Sounds like it is she who would benefit from some time in the clinker. People like this give feminism a bad name.

That's over-the-top harsh and totally unwarranted Ralph and I will not be lumped in with this 'public mind' of yours - he's not running from a rape conviction at all. He's never been charged with an offence and the women involved have said quite clearly he didn't rape them; that was made up by the police.

Except that before very long he would turn up in Ecuador and set out to exact revenge on the US, UK and Swedish authorities.
