We call on you to keep global temperature rise under the unacceptably dangerous level of 2 degrees C, by phasing out carbon pollution to zero. To achieve this, you must urgently forge realistic global, national and local agreements, to rapidly shift our societies and economies to 100% clean energy by 2050. Our wonderfully addled gubmint here in de emerald oil is pushing for 'relaxed' restrictions on CO2 emissions in the years ahead.

Why? Because the recession has meant we couldn't afford to put measures in place to restrict emissions.

As they say, fiction has to be believable.

Nothing will change for the better until ordinary people are suffering tangibly from climate change and where the link between the one and the other is unambiguous. By that point, of course, it will be way too late. It's already too late.
