Whatever Happened To Aurora?

Post by 3rdRock »

It's been almost a year since the last post by Aurora.

Does anyone know why?

There's loads of people that have simply stopped posting without warning, sometimes to the detriment of of the site. Aurora was just one. JohnB, woodburner, hardworkinghippy, Keela, Andy Hunt, Ludwig, fifthcolumn to name just those that come immediately to mind.

What little info. I have says that most of them are simply busy with other things; others may have said all they want to say. What a site it would be with that lot back here.

And of course any of them could simply have dropped dead. It does happen, I've heard.

Some of them are still alive on facebook and twitter, which they may feel is less of a small clique.

HWH's and JohnB's posts always made me feel that there is a worthwhile future. I miss them.

John Boshier I've been avoiding it due to not being able to cope with all the bad news, not due to trolls!

Jason Cole The style of posts is very RGR like....

Has anyone watched the Nafeez Ahmed DVD? Is it any good, or is it as bad as "Ralph" suggests? I haven't watched any doom porn for quite some time

John Boshier That's not fair Chris! I'll feel guilt now I know my words of wisdom are missed! Catweazle only lives down the road, although we never got our act together to actually meet!

No problem - looks to me like a lot of the posters from TOD have ended up on there.

Personally, I'm spending a lot more time over on the woo-woo sites. It was a mission to wade through the junk to get to the rather infrequent informative threads, but a new site started up last week which looks far more promising.

For me the attraction is more the "prepping" stuff, and the more crap the elite's are now blatently throwing at us, the further away from the sheeple control systems I am moving. I still stick my nose in here, but not quite as regularly as I used to, I spend a lot more time on

I cut back on my posts a few months ago because I was working in China for a few months. Interestingly this website bans China. Usually it is China that bans websites. I may even do a post on my opinions of China. I think it is a vision of post-Peak oil Britain.

That would be interesting, looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Instead of being able to access the forum you got a mildly rude message, presumably from the forum administrators, saying something like spammers and adverts from China are not welcome. I should have taken a screenshot. I guess it knows what IP address is a Chinese one. I could read the forum only when i used my company Australia-based secure server.

Thanks. Odd bit of self-censorship. Just goes to show, there's a need for a better registration process.
