Motion sensor device for lighting

My wife, despite being very aware and proactive on the whole energy issue, has a real problem turning off lights. Sometimes I come home to find the whole house lit up like some sort of Christmas tree and I'm getting fed up chasing her around turning all the lights off.

Having two young sons who also seem to have this obsession with the lights I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't fit some sort of motion sensors to turn the lights off in certain rooms when no ones around.

Can anyone recommend anything that a lay person like me would be able to fit/install easily?

Wives and children not turning off lights is a common problem I'm afraid to say.

Humph. Some of us would say, what about husbands and children?

Though actually mine aren't bad. Even the four year old has some concept of saving electricity.

There are devices which switch off after a set period of time, but it may mean you can't switch them off sooner; my pal's bathroom light switches on at a motion sensor signal, but does this whatever daylight's available, and won't switch off until it's seen out its ten minutes or whatever. And then there's the fact the cat can set it off...

And anybody wishing to make anything of the terms 'motion sensor' and bathroom' can go and stand in the corner, OK?
