Yes unfortunately but I'm glad you considered the alternatives. On a cold winter night with nowhere to go that you can get to, Someone to snuggle with next to the fire is about as good as it gets.

Well it rained yesterday (March 30th) and it settled the snow about a foot. The picnic tables top popped up in the back yard. The gravel roads turned to their usual muddy rutted springtime mess. It is back down to 25F this morning with gusty winds with some more rain or sleet predicted ,high around 38F. It will be a while yet before I need to worry about turning over gardens.

Well this morning I had to go down to the town office to do a bit of lister work. The road was a mass of frozen ruts glazed with an eighth of an inch of ice. No problem I think, been there,done that, and have four wheel drive!! Anyway approaching the last bridge on the gravel (rutted road) I caught a frozen rut the wrong way and it threw me sideways and landed me on an ice covered patch pointed sideways to the road and then my high tech anti lock brakes helped me fully engage the snowbank over a three foot deep side ditch and left me hung up on the differentials with no chance of getting it out without some assistance. Leaving the person I was scheduled to work with that day hanging was not a viable option so going home four miles to get the tractor was out of the question. I walked the last half mile into town, stopped at the coffee/pizza shop and had a bite to eat plus called the local auto tow truck then went to the town office. The tow truck showed up in good time and had me back on the road with no damage to the truck and a very fair amount of damage to my wallet in less then half an hour. My appointment hardly noticed the inconvenience.

Well it's April one and the snow is defiantly not gone! Here is one of my gardens.

And here is the "Bobbin shop road" I take to the village.

And here is the hole in the snow bank I made yesterday.

Well it was almost all gone except for pushed up snowbanks and a hard rain yesterday was making quick work of them but a cold front went through last night and the rain turned to snow so I have another couple of inches over everything. It's 18 degrees F this morning with snow flurries and a brisk NW wind. It was 65 yesterday afternoon.
It should be gone in a day or two so my spring has been about two weeks behind schedule.
The rain and snowmelt filled the brooks and rivers to bank full and the water was over the road down in the village last night. A lot of people were pumping out basements etc. It is pretty impressive when a normally babbling brook turns into roaring torrent that is clunking the boulders around like they were marbles.
