Ive cleared up glastonbury festival for the last few years most likely will do it again this year and that landfills a 2000-3000 tons of waste a year and hes talking about 20 billion tons

Well given time I suppose you could gather that amount if you had a big enough scoop it would have to be a hell of a big thing, but then we dont recycle plastic waste on land we mainly landfill it.

If he has some idea of how to seperate waste and recycle plastic at a profit it should work on land too so that would be the place to start,

Its funny you dont actually get many greens actually litter picking festivals there are some, but this fellow should actually do this with real waste on land.

I'm not sure how you would seperate different types of waste when its been broken in small bits and degraded by the sun. Paul Stemets talked about growing mushrooms to get rid of plastic waste that might work .

Plastic is made from hydrocarbons and will burn well and emit energy. You could burn some of the plastic removed from the oceans and use it to power the removal system. This is one of the reasons power from waste is becoming so popular.
