There's another problem with politics - you might like single policies from several different parties.

It's easy being me - I like no existing policies, nor any political parties.

Since this thread has been bumped, I wonder if the complete absence of a Bulgarian and Romanian invasion has altered UE's (and others) opinions at all?

True, there are a lot here but they were here already working as self-employed. I've not seen any increase (nor decrease) in Romanian nationals at work.

We've had a large Polish minority around here for at least a decade. I heard a couple of brickies talking in what sounded like Russian to me yesterday, but I'm not sure I tell Russian from similar languages.

When I was in Cypress recently I discovered there is widespread use of Filipino women as house maids and home nursing care on the island, and more recently Nepali and Bangladeshi women. They are recruited by legal agencies, but have dubious legal status, are widely exploited and kept in servitude, or even slavery. Passports confiscated, barely paid, unable to read their own contracts (written in Greek) and left with unpayable debts to the recruitment agencies.

My wife's cousin has set up the 'unofficial Nepali embassy' (There is no Nepali embassy or consulate in Cypress) and runs a low key support network, getting them legal support, fighting extradition, getting them paid agricultural work (plenty of that on the island). It makes him very unpopular with the local powers that be.

It hasn't altered UKIP's policies, but since they are not founded on rational analysis of facts, altering the facts cannot be expected to result in change.

Not in the slightest. Firstly, because only someone as disingenuous as yourself would choose to insert the word "invasion" in order to mischaracterize both the substance and tone of our position and, secondly, because of a deliberately constructed false dichotomy on your part to assume that our position is predicated on whether or not one particular influx from one particular location occurs at one specific time.

Look who's talking. Since when was your own position based on an analysis of facts, Biff Vernon? Your position on everything non-scientific is driven by ideology and wishful thinking, not facts.
