It's a pity they didn't use this picture which shows the snow in October 2008. Many trees were broken by the weight of snow on the leaves.

When i did my off-road driver training with Land Rover, we were taught a basic rule of thumb that a gallon of oil contaminates a million gallons of water. This was in the context of water crossings (i.e. avoid at all costs due to contamination risk).

At least 20 dead in Sudanese flooding, at least 31 in Thailand, Phillipines flooded with 3 dead (flooding there is called the 'new normal') and 83 dead in Cambodia.

Quite a lengthy story but simply one example of how nuclear and climate change - and potentially or actually mixing them - are really bad ideas.
The easiest pathway for plutonium to have left the Rocky Flats site during the flood was simply by way of surface soils being washed away by the incredible amounts of rain that fell over the five-day period. That’s because, according to a recent test, plutonium levels on top of and in some of the soils at the Flats are just as prevalent today as they were decades ago.
What happened at Rocky Flats has been called a 1,000-year event.
There's inflation for you. Once-in-a-hundred years? That's so yesterday.

If you have a 1000 reactors scattered around the world, one of them will encounter a 1 in a 1000 year event on average once a year....

That's something people overlook when comparing say, moonshots with mass roll-out of energy systems.

True but people tend to think locally.

1 to 300 years. They are RANDOM events and are not evenly spaced apart.
