Yep, banning something like this from youtube/google is roughly equivalent of the BBC refusing to play the Sex Pistols' "God Save The Queen" in 1977.

I know it suits some people to see fascists under the bed but Google were just responding to a legally served 'take down notice' from the owners of the F1 logo & brand.

That F1 don't want to be associated with Greenpeace is obvious enough.

Nothing to do with Google at all really.

I'd call it a spurious takedown notice because it falls under fair use.

Eh? What was I wrong about? The video was banned by Google. That was true. It may well have been the case that they were under legal pressure and it was not their fault. On the other hand...well, who knows. But of course the villains are Shell. It's they who want to trash the Arctic.

Because by failing to mention that Google were simply complying with a legal demand from FOM you seemingly wished to make people infer that somehow Google were involved in the decision to make the video less available.

The truth is that Google have no policy on this at all. Google didn't ban anything. Google were instructed to remove a video and have done so. FOM have sought to ban the video.

Did you really not know that or were you deliberately trying to implicate Google?
