Actually there may be a point. If the original FB t&cs said something to the effect of "in the absence of a statement by you to the contrary, we will assume we can use..." then it might be that somebody has worked out such a "statement to the contrary" in proper legal-ese.
I treat the entire internet like a library. It's full of useful info BUT everyone can hear every word I say AND I'd never leave my credit card lying about in it.

Exactly what I was thinking. One has to check the terms carefully and if you don't like them, don't post any information you don't want sharing and if the worst comes to the worst, delete it and suspend your account.
