Ditto... although there are still many things we NEED to change while we can!

So it's time to get off the 'puter and go finish clearing the spare room... it will become a different sort of 'spare' room now..... :)

Sorry - still couldn't cope with the guns....

Although, apparently I am a good shot - the only time I went clay pigeon shooting I shot 8/10 out of the sky. I missed the last 2 because they were shot as doubles & I was only given one cartridge for each double!!!!

Thing is I daren't try again.... in case that time was a fluke!

That's an interesting idea. Will we see the "energy police" raiding people's home to confiscate aircon units and keep-warm kettles? And on the international scale the "UN Energy Force" bombing businesses that are making worthless junk, or squandering energy needlessly?

Suppose you are on a cruise liner, with loads of food & fuel, on a 10 week cruise .... but at week 8 the engines & radios fail during a storm and you are blown miles off course and the fuel tanks spring a leak until only 10% in the emergency tank remains ...

Do you think that the passengers will be allowed to stuff their faces with 5 burgers a day?

Do you think that hoarding of food or water in cabins will be allowed?

Do you think that 30 minute hot showers will be allowed?

Nope, the crew and passengers will set up some sort of "police force" to ensure nobody is taking more than their fair share.

Once you are down to 100cc of water a day per passenger:
A: Crime will increase significantly
B: The criminals will be slung overboard when found.

At what point - if ever - will strict controls be required on Earth?

What would happen on our ship if the Americans produced guns from their baggage and set up an enclave in First Class with all the food and water? They would of course have better food & water allocations due to their "importance". Any corner of the ship found to have a water storage tank would be raided and a "protection" force set up around the water tank. Armed patrols would ensure the safety of the water tank. Armed "convoys" would drain the tank and take its contents back to First Class. The water tank area would be abandoned as soon as the tank was empty.

What a bunch of wankers the lot of them.
Very good  very good,

Just a thought, you know that old expression "if you can't beat them, join them" bearing in mind your comments (and like many others I quite agree, spot on and humourous also), it's going to be alot easier for "your guys" to change your spots and blend in than "us girls" - don't you think? :)

Former US vice-president Al Gore will advise the government on the issue

Nice. If it's anything like his current film:

Government: So Al, what should we do?

Al Gore: Oh you need to do something alright.

Government: Like what?

Al Gore: You need to take action! That's what!

Government: Ok...so, what sort of action should we take?

Al Gore: You'd better take action gosh darn it! Big problems for you my friends if you don't!

Government: *sigh* any ideas?

Al Gore: ACTION! ACT NOW!

*repeat until credits*

Labour doesn't seem too popular ..... a tax too far methinks ...... even if the new taxes are apparently (!) for an honourable cause ...

I guess that we now know the answer to the 'Are humans smarter than yeast ?" question.

Wonder how many of these idiots actually bothered to vote in the first place.

That's really quite scary...I was actually thinking that maybe these were all Shell and BP employees paid to sit there for the morning making up names. I'm hoping it might be that anyway or we're even stuffed-er than I thought!

It is indeed scary. This is the problem that worries me whenever people talk about society "pulling together" to fight the problem. In principle, people don't mind helping out, as long as it doesn't cost them any more or compromise their lifestyle - but we all know that isn't what's going to happen...

Here comes that "doomed" feeling again...
