You could, but this topic is titled GM foods......... You ought to start another topic to deal with these substances.

I can't have my say as I don't fit the profile they are looking for. FW are not asking an unbiased question. There seems to me to be a leaning towards"GM is good".

GM and Roundup are the DDT of the 21st century.

You mean you don't class your window box as a farm?

I completed the survey but I left one question unanswered as it didn't have a suitable answer that reflected my anti GM view.

Quite an interesting and well worded survey. I wonder whether my response will be an outlier. Along with Ken's ;)

I had to pretend the Plot was a farm :) Less than 20 Ha, I'm a Tenant and we produce potatoes, pulses and vegeatbles. And ("other") fruit :D

Tick the first box then have your say, that is, say "I own, manage, run, live or work on a farm".

Me too. : ) And I played heavily on my time market-gardening in Whisht Cork.

How Bt and Roundup Ready Plants Threaten Plant, Animal and Human Health

Take the genetically engineered Bt plants, for example. In these plants, a specific genetic material for a single toxin protein has been separated from the bacteria (Bacillus thuringiensis, or Bt) and placed into the genetic material of a plant, such as corn, soybean, and potatoes. Other Bt plants are also in the pipeline. According to Dr. Ingham, there’s very clear evidence of harm in animals that consume Bt plant material. They end up with severe ulceration, starting in the digestive system.

China destroys three shipments of GM corn from US

Then there's the other part of the story:
However, Mr Li says the new government still has a long way to go to eliminate the GMOs that he and others believe are being grown across the country and to impose a ban on domestically grown and imported GMOs.

Tesco, Sainsbury, Marks and Spencer, Morrison, ASDA and the Co-op are now selling chickens fed on genetically modified soya. Few consumers are aware of the change, for the retailers are not labelling their products as containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The Co-op and Tesco have also misled their customers by claiming that GM feed given to animals is not detectable in animal products. This is not true. Several research studies have found that GM DNA from animal feed is present in the milk, meat, and eggs that people eat. This has been confirmed by the UK Government’s Food Standards Agency.
More here and the Al Jazeera film mentioned in the article is here.
It’s too late to save Maria Almeida’s little son but we as UK consumers can help to prevent the multiplication of similar cases by getting our supermarkets to re-impose their ban on GMO soya in animal feed. Brazilian farmers say that there is plenty of non-GMO soya on the market. Doing this will not solve all the problems but it will be a first step.

Might as well drink glyphosate then. Do members of the cabinet eat GM foods?
