the myth of "saudi america"

Post by emordnilap »

A hard-hitting article from Slate.
According to the statistics presented by J. David Hughes at the AGU session, we are now drilling 25,000 wells per year just to bring production back to the levels of the year 2000, when we were drilling only 5,000 wells per year.
More here.

Pretty hard hitting. For geologists maybe. A typical Bakken decline from nearly 6000 wells? What a maroon.

A bit pusillanimous to criticise on an internet forum.

That's quite a violet reaction.

Good to see him linking to the David Strahan article exposing the oh so basic mathematical misunderstanding which underpins the Maugueri piece. It's shocking that it was allowed to be published and amusing that Monbiot based his recantation of peak oil on such flawed analysis.
