What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

There's a strong correlation between these people's political persuasions and the amount of climate denying they spout.
He accuses the scientists of not using the scientific method properly. He should therefore gather some data and conduct research using the scientific method, subject it to peer review, and publish it. That's the beauty of science: it is refutable, if new data come to light. It's easy to criticise, specially when it suits your agenda.
