I am noticing a pattern on the various websites I post on (except here). That pattern involves a small number of very vocal posters who are fiercely defending the propaganda. Its frightening the lengths they will go to to counteract whatever point of view you may be suggesting.
I just call them government stooges.
You can tell when they're getting desperate though. They always resort to insults. Usually of the tinfoil hat variety.

I was 'putting right' some of my family members yesterday about the Assange case. They have been totally duped by the mass media coverage of it. He is a dangerous rapist and should be put in the stocks, boiled in oil, made to walk the plank, etc. just for starters

It just shows how powerful the media are, and how they can make the majority of people think how they want them to think.

This is fast becoming the greatest test of the character and resolve of the British people since the darkest days of 1940/1941. Except this time the enemy is closer to home.

just a personal observation but the people I work with although not vocal about it, seem totally accepting of the fact that this is all about getting him into US hands. It doesn't matter what the BBC says in repeating the "It's just about some rape allegations" line, everyone around here just seems to be ignoring that.
These are the same people who usually call me crazy (or something a little milder) for saying things that are contrary to what the mainstream media reports.
But then, maybe they're an isolated bunch on this matter.

Yes, I have been posting on the Guardian site over the last few days on their comments section vis a vis the Assange case. There are posters on there who are out and out paid shills. I'm certain of it.
The Guardian newspaper has deleted my posts where I put up the fact sheet for the Assange extradition case where the actual KNOWN FACTS are laid out each in turn.
They've f***ing deleted them from the comments section!
The Guardian has now closed the comments sections (or not even out a comments section up) for all stories of Assange that appear at the top of their main page. Only the stories, no comments allowed. The only one where comments are allowed is off the main page.
This is orchestrated.
Also, their latest venture, a section called "liberty central", has had all further comments closed on the comments section
People are working out what's happening. I use a shooting forum - they're not generally known for their moderate views ( "bring back hanging" is a regular ) - and I'm surprised how many people have seen straight through this case.
Of course there are still some people who have their red-topped opinions delivered daily, but not as many as you'd think.
