This is stupid. If the Liberal Democrats cannot at this point come out fighting for what they believe in and know to be true, then their entire party deserves to be consigned to the dustbin of history. I expect short-sighted crap that doesn't work from Tories. I do not expect the libdems to just go along with it, even after it has been proved that it doesn't work.

Yep It has. Mostly on pointless stuff that doesn't help.

The bottom line is we are going to get poorer as a nation. The only question that matters is how we manage it. Equitably or inequitably.

Then they must abandon the Coalition and let the Tories stew in their own juices. If they want to remain in coalition, they have little choice but a certain degree of compromise.
