That's the spirit!
I was thinking more along the lines of this type of yacht.
If there were 33 cmo's on the wall and one fell off...

Simply the wrong technology for the job. That solar yacht averaged around 6 mph its 18 month round the world trip. By wind/sail you can get round the world in under 46 days (Jules Verne Trophy)

Oh the naivety.ArowxGames wrote:My point is that in 33 years time there will be a massive global energy gap and oil will be too expensive and rare to fill it.
In 33 years expect oil to cost the same as gold and yes people will still be finding and selling it but only the richest people on the planet will be using it to fuel their cars.
All we need to do is ensure our politicians, CEO's and everyone we know is made aware of cmo's and this trend so we can start to make the move away from fossil fuels. The sooner we start the migration/transition process the longer we will have with 'cheap oil' to help fuel us towards a greener future.
There is a strong chance this energy gap will be in 5 or 6 years time, not 33..... put that in your pipe and smoke it.
In 33 years time, there will be likely be no more cars burning oil - that will have stopped well before then. Oil will still be used for certain applications, but it may no longer be practical to produce oil in "cmo's" due to the infrastructure required. On the other hand because of oil use reduction, it is quite possible that demand will have shrunk dramatically and oil could be relatively cheap, compared to food and water and shelter and heat, etc.
We are moving away from fossil fuels, just very very slowly. We will not be able to move away quickly enough to keep out current way of life. We have to come to terms with these realities and get over it. That is the way it is going to be. The Hirsh report is well worth reading to understand why.
Simplistic solutions won't work I am afraid. But keep reading, it will help your understanding and ultimately your preparation and chance of survival.

Maybe you are right - Metro paper reporting that energy will be unaffordable in 3 years time.

However this is the kind of thing we should use to push the government and banks to invest heavily in the development and delivery of the next generation of renewable energy systems.
