The trouble is, all these numbers are so large that they become meaningless to most people.

What does it mean for 1% of the population to have a net worth (whatever that is) 122 times larger than the national median?

In a country so large, populus and hetrogenius, it is very hard to get a feel for the median value of anything.

True. But that's not the point of it, is it? It's making one single central point, that of the issue of gargantuan and still growing inequality within America.
