Set up an information centre/library, open discussion forum and workshop in your local community to help educate people about surviving in an energy scarce world using the skills and knowledge you have gained from knowing about peak oil now and preparing for it.
As my parents keep reminding me when i tell them of my desire to try and be self sufficient in preparation for peak oil: you need money to live.
I dont actually believe that to be completely true although i think it is to some extent if you want to live within the current system.
There is also the fact that even though it should be possible to live without money you would still need money to buy the land to live on (and tools etc).
Catch 22.
The first three are relatively easy for most people, the last one is easy only if you're rich or are retirement age and have been prudent.mikepepler wrote: Choose not to have a [car/TV/mortgage/full time paid job/etc]

What a shame, seemed quite promising, this human species.

I?d break into a chicken farm and let the poor little things out of their cages ? and then tie down a Labour politician with corn glued to his/her fat naked body and let the chickens peck the Nazi to death.
I have nightmares about the unmitigated cruelty to chickens but strangely I would like to see Labour party members toutured to death slowly.

Smugly ladle out veggie stew and baked veggies and salad to a table full of people who eat Far Too Much Meat.
Note - I eat meat, I'm not anti-carnivore, but I know of a number of adult picky eaters who say they 'don't eat vegtables' and who as a result eat far more than is reasonable of meat. If you're cooking a steak meal for guests with new spuds, fresh salad, mushrooms, and say, stuffed peppers, how would you feel if one dinner guest said 'I don't eat vegetables, I'll just have two steaks please'?
That's why I'd enjoy sharing a completely vegetarian table with such people (keeping the scant meat available for high days and holidays with the family)
Or maybe I'm just mean.

Get a law passed that says that anyone who defaults on their mortgage can still live in their home, as long as they maintain it so that it keeps its value, and the mortgage lender can count its value in their balance sheet as an asset.
The mortgage can be started up again at such time as the householder can afford it!
