EU has its own riot police

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

EU has its own riot police

Post by nexus »

Did you know that the EU has its own riot police that can operate in any European country but is answerable directly to none of them? No I didn’t either.

They are called the European Gendarmerie Force (Eurogendfor) . They are based in Italy but funded and staffed by six signatory nations who are France, Italy, Holland, Spain, Portugal and Romania. However, according to the Treaty which established Eurogendfor they can operate in any EU country and are available to others who invite them to do so. The country which invites them in is refered to as the ‘Host’.

The Gendarmerie are specifically set up to deal with riots and civil unrest and as the treaty spells out they are to be

…exclusively comprising elements of police forces with military statusHere is a picture of the force. How many police forces or even riot police do you know who drill with bayonet?

There is so much disturbing stuff going on. Just today was reading about Jean de Menezes - signs that he was killed not by the police but by the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, which is answerable to no one. The deeper you dig, the more alarming the story looks. Still, I know you think I'm a conspiracy nut so I don't know why I'm mentioning it :)

In theory, the EUGendarme has to be invited by the host nation government, but its purpose is to put down a revolution. Just in case Her Majesties Government needs some heads cracking (or apparently bodies bayonetting) and they cant rely on the Met or the Army.....

And yet people insist the government must be all powerful and all resistance to it is treason.....
