:P

Hopefully skeptik will find an image somewhere...
I hope so, and No!

Keep your questions short sweet and punchy. Chris has given you some ideas but they are too long. Keep it down to one sentence, if possible. Max, 2 short sentences.

If you present them with an essay or diatribe you will be passed over...

I'd like to hear a response to something like this:

"Given that the government has prempted the Energy Review and decided on new nuclear power stations, why does it keep misleading the public by saying that nuclear power is carbon free when it isnt?"

I would think you may be more likely to get your question picked if it had a climate change angle. You can go in with peak oil issues on your chance to reply.

Margaret Beckett's appointment of John Ashton as 'Climate Change Diplomat' today might be topical enough.

I just suspect that although the BBC has started to talk about peak oil, a programme like Question Time is still pretty conservative and may not like to pose questions that the panel will be totally stumped by!

Good point.

Perhaps:

"Does the pannel support the view that the best way of reducing our impact on the climate is to reduce our consumption of energy?"

Today's news angles:

Markets tanking again today. Perhaps Energy, Inflation and interest rates rises could be worked in somehow.
"... with the price rises, does the panel think supplies are near peak? And what should we do?"

Lib Dems talk about reducing income tax and increasing fuel tax for aviation.
http://politics.guardian.co.uk/libdems/ ... 39,00.html
Perhaps a conservation angle there?

Russia threatening their neighbours again.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/russia/articl ... 65,00.html
How do we feel about relying on them for fuel supplies (which will, in turn, decline)?

Lots about Iraq in the news today. Expect Galloway's head to turn purple.
(And apparently the guy they killed help make oil cheaper somehow.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5058822.stm )

Looks like we're slightly giving in to Iran.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/iran/story/0,,1792739,00.html
Is this because we have realised our hypocrisy in building more nukes and telling Iran they can't?
(Could this be because we couldn't possibly beat them in a scrap?)

(non-energy related Q)
Does the panel agree that it's great Rooney never had to go NHS (except GG)?

I think this subject has a very good chance of being discussed. Maybe something along the lines of ?Are the Liberal Democrats right to suggest cutting the basic rate of income tax and increasing taxes on environmentally damaging things like aviation as a response to climate change??

Heh, yes.

"Does the panel believe that the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq will lead to lower petrol prices." :) Galloway would love it.

Good Tess

How about:

"Would the panel please let us know whether they think the price of oil is dependent on it's rate of flow based on it being a finite resource, or whether Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead or alive?"

Well, it must be coming to a close soon in Torquay, and I hope XENG got a chance to ask about peak oil this time. He's pretending to be me, as I've got so much to do at home, while my better half get's ready for her exams. (Helping her get her nursing degree is by far the most important peak oil preparation I've got to do!)

Well, back to it... Can't wait till QT is on, see you all tomorrow!

I'd just ask straight out, "What are the Governments plans regarding Oil depletion as it wil happen or is happening now?" and then when they answer gas/nuclear will span the gap, i'd then ask "What are the Governments plans regarding Oil/Gas/Uranium/Coal depletion following Oil depletion as it will happen or is happening now?"
Enjoy yourself with the time remaining, I've decided I'm going to.

I missed the program.

I take it your question didn't get picked?

Would be interesting to know what you went with?

Thanks.
