I'd go with what some others on here have said and that you may well be wasting your time, because who wants to have someone else's view-point rammed down your throat?Juliaw wrote:...
They are both educated people and devoted Guardian readers, they seem to be aware of everything that is going on but really don't seem to want to face the bigger picture.

Sometimes the way people talk about PO is very religious.. with terms such as "believe/ belief" (in PO) or making people aware of the coming apocalypse. .. or other such quasi-religious overtones. What i'm saying is that there is no point in preaching.
Maybe the very simple answer is.. they're very happy living their life and certainly don't want to be moving.. and quite possibly not in with their daughter. Many parents can't wait to start their lives again after the kids have flown the coop...
I aint saying that is absolute fact, just a possible to think about.
In the meantime, if they're Guardianistas ... then point them at this link.

It doesn't ram PO down the throat, but joins up the dots in light of what happens when some key sections of society are paralysed or destroyed. It doesn't take a much thinking about to see that if PO does kick in, on a world scale, then what is going on in Japan, multiplied across the world, could be something that'd be truly terrifying.
Good luck..
