What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Not quite sure what to make of this. You can experiment with different scenarios. Have a play.

If the simulations are right we are in a pretty much impossible situation. The simulations could be right!

Had a go. They are pretty much forcing you into certain changes to meet the goal (at least, it looked that way to me).

Such as:

vastly increased biofuel use - yet we already have food problems?
Lots of nuclear power - can't see another 10-20 nukes being built - can you?
Manufacturing growth - double the size by 2050 as the default? seriously?

I suppose it might show some people the scale of the task though, but those people arn't going to go remotely near this site, it's like preaching to the converted.
