First time it's taken over £60 to fill my tank :-(

granted, I was practically on vapour, but that is a bit of a milestone for me, ?60 - ouch. Good job I commute to work by cycle now!

Also, is it me or has the amount of traffic on a Sunday increased recently ?? I live near Cambridge and the A14 and surrounding roads were as busy as on a weekday morning which is just nuts. Definitely not a day of rest anymore.

It costs me about ?35 - ?40 to fill up my car. If there's still much of society left in three years I'll be getting a small, economical, fun to drive Smart roadster but in the meantime I'll stick with my 1.4 Focus, 42mpg I can get out of it.

And, oh yes, I'll be biking to work 3 times a week now!

20p a litre cheaper than diesel, with tax/duty paid, and a lot lower net CO2 emissions overall, as it's receovered waste veg oil. Of course if you buy it illegally at the supermarket it's 43p a litre....

I've got a Roadster and I love it It usually costs me just over ?25 to fill it up, the downside is that the engine requires (according to the manual) at least 98 RON petrol. If you're not aware of it, Smart are ending production of the Roadster this year.

I recently started cycling to work every day - approx 20 miles a day. The first couple of weeks were a killer, but I actually look forward to it now!

The car is up for sale so I should save quite a bit of money from now on.

20 miles a day! Good stuff, last year I cycled 8 miles a day which was easy. The more you do it the further you can go, I find.

I (sometimes) cycle 7 miles to work, down a small part of the Leeds-Liverpool canal, it's beautiful scenery and the narrow boats I go past look like they'd make excellent, cheap to heat dwellings.
