Forums running slow

The PowerSwitch forum seems to have been running slow for a couple of days now. Is anybody on the case?

+1. The service is particularly poor this morning.

Powerswitch seems to be a persistently slow service.

I know all about running web sites an antiquated hardware and this website is excellent value for money, but is there any prospects of increased performance on the horizon? Would a tweaking of the database to trim down old access log tables or better indexing be possible?

I'm will to offer advice, although the site I run is different technology.

Seems ok now.
I have wondered about deleting all members of a years standing or more, that have no posts.
Some people may wish to join and take their time before posting, no harm in that.
But a year with no surving posts suggests a spammer.

Some people like to lurk.

Does the number of users have a performance effect?

Not certain if the numbers of users has a performance effect, but a larger number encourages spam.
It is considered more worthwhile to spam a form with 3,000 members, than one with 1,000.
