Excellent Candy! I may even be tempted to buy a 7 inch single to show my support for it in the Hit Parade....

Thanks Andy.... pass it on please... it is much better though with the accompanying visualisations (made from 'found' images on the web, with subtitles, captions, lyrics etc...) - building this up as we speak, but have you ever tried putting a 47 minute slide show together? LOL

Mental the projects I get into... 8)

I feel that this song resonates with many aspects of our predicament.
Forecloser Of A Dream - Megadeth

Rise so high, yet so far to fall
A plan of dignity and balance for all
Political breakthrough, euphoria's high
More borrowed money, more borrowed time
Backed in a corner, caught up in the race
Means to an end ended in disgrace
Perspective is lost in the spirit of the chase

Chorus
Foreclosure of a dream
Those visions never seen
Until all is lost
Personal Holocaust
Foreclosure of a dream

Barren land that once filled a need
Are worthless now, dead without a deed
Slipping away from an iron grip
Nature's scales are forced to tip
The heartland cries, loss of all pride
To leave ain't believing, so try and be tried
when insufficient funds, insanity and suicide

Now with new hope some will be proud
This is no hoax, no one pushed out
Receive a reprieve and be a pioneer
Break new ground of a new frontier
New ideas will surely get by
No deed, or dividend. Some may ask "Why?"
You'll find the solution, the answers in the sky

Rise so high, yet so far to fall
A plan of dignity and balance for all
Political breakthrough, euphoria's high
More borrowed money, more borrowed time
"The uncertainty of our times is no reason to be certain about hopelessness" - Vandana Shiva

OK, I've resisted posting anything here for a looooooong time, even though it's always been an interesting thread to flick through.
Please indulge me this small bit of self-promotion!

I recorded something recently called 'The Up Shit Creek Blues' as part of an album ('Alterations') I will be releasing later this year.
TUSCB is one of the preview tracks I've just posted on my website:

www.marknorthfield.com

Go to the audio link in the left hand menu and scroll a short way down the page to find it.

Hope you find it interesting. Feel free to share.

Cheers. :D

The Up Shit Creek Blues

Such a party
Such a great party
Remembered in hushed tones
With overdue diligence
Snakes and ladders
Collateral damage
Interesting times

What a party
What an exclusive party
Probable reserves
Our just desserts
Energy is currency
The skin of modernity
Now comes the hard graft

But the crowd sings

Something will turn up
Oh, it usually does
The great white techno fix
Waist high asterisks
Hindsight's a wonderful thing
Sing suckers!

Something will turn up
Well, it usually does
Mirrors and artifice
Belated wish lists
For told-you-so demons to sing
Sing
Sing
Sing

Such a party
Such a great party
One grand narrative arc
Invite the world and its dog
Growth is sacred
The emperor is naked
Are you awake yet?

What a party
What a swell party this is
Sheeple and uber-doomers
Cheap thrills, crazy numbers
Deniers' fantasies
Robust policies
Systemic unspeak

So the crowd sings

Something will turn up
Oh, it usually does
So many lights, so many cars
So many unforced errors
Hindsight's a terrible thing
Sing suckers!

Something will turn up
Well, it usually does
Never mind the methane
Give us our tittytainment
Who wants to be a millionaire
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah

Such a party
The most exclusive party
Remembered in hushed tones
Our unquiet bones
Dig for victory
Pick your obituary
Aren't the stars beautiful

It worked for me in Firefox, but was rather distorted.

Oh dear. Sorry folks. :(

I'm very surprised if the whole thing sounds distorted... The drums on the track ARE distorted, but they're supposed to be!

I just checked out the site again now and it seems to be fine (in both Firefox and Safari). I'll have to look into Soundcloud as it's not something I've used before.
