David Cameron in U-turn over solar panels

Is Solar Power going to give the UK the energy it needs for the 21st century?

:D
I'm not sure I've seen an ugly solar PV?
Do people actually prioritise the aesthetics when it comes to choosing an energy source?! I thought it was just the cost putting people off updating their houses with solar panels...

I do like the idea of renewable technologies being used on local electricity grids though.
Perhaps that will also appeal to those who worry about making their houses look ugly... :|

Incredibly, people do think about stuff like that. They wonder if the fact that their house "looks different" will affect the price when they come to sell.

I would say that was barking, but for the experience with the woodburner when we moved from the auld "Chateau Renewable" to this one.

The moral of the story? "You can take them with you when you go" :D

It would, most definitely. A house with pv would fetch a better price than one without. Stands to reason, don't it?

Better to live in an 'ugly' house, than a ruined planet I suppose? We should just be happy that we are indeed living. :D

If it is true that a result of our misuse of fossil fuels an increase in global temperature of 5 - 10 degrees can lead to mass extinction; then surely it is important to focus on finding alternative renewable energy sources, and whether they are deemed unattractive should be irrelevant?

I would definitely pay more :) it would mean that I could be lazy and not have to install it myself!

Utility can be attractive in its own right!
