Some people do discrete conversions that don't show external signs of being lived in. They then park overnight on the street, and no one notices. I think official sites in Ireland are quite expensive, but in the UK the Caravan Club and Camping and Caravanning Club have a network of 5 van sites that can be cheap. Some are only £3-4 a night, but tend to be rather remote, and the ones near cities are likely to be more expensive. Caravan Club sites are quite cheap in winter for one person, but they are not officially for living on. It depends partly on the wardens on a particular site, and partly on the area manager, so I've heard.phobos wrote:how about a motorhome that you can stay in during the week, and take it home at weekends, we did a show at Earls Court a couple of years ago, camped at Crystal Palace Camp Site for £10-15 a night, bargain.
Also motorhomes tend to hold there price really well, and are also really useful if your place in the country needs work (like JohnB)
