What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Truly Disgusting

I have just spoken to the FCO press spokesman. The line on the legality of the Israeli attack is "We are not getting into that, especially when the details are unclear." They are waiting for "clarification from our Embassy in Tel Aviv".

That is a terrible reaction from the coailition government to its first test on human rights. The detail can make no difference to the fact that the Israelis attacked foreign flagged vessels in international waters. That is a priori illegal. Where the hell are FCO legal advisers? Is this government ignoring them just like New Labour?

UPDATE

Demonstration outside Downing St at 2pm. Doubtless it will be small, but I feel obliged to be there.

In international waters...

The world would be a much happier place if the bad smell that is the state of Israel could be wiped from the face of the Earth.

Fair enough to put forward an argument criticising the existence of Israel (it's a mostly free cyberspace) but phrases like "bad smell" and "wiped from the face of the Earth" aren't helpful, IMHO.

Crikey, it's the Labour Friends of Israel crew, the shabby cousins of AIPAC.

Neither listed on this unbelievably short page.
This section includes information about the main Zionist Organizations operating worldwide, in order to support the Jewish people and reinforce the Jewish nation.

Tip of the iceberg, and all that.

Yes, when stopped by the Coast Guard, its sensible to charge them with knives and stab half a dozen of them.
The Coast Guard are evil if they shoot you for trying to stab their mates to death.

Lets exterminate jews eh Foodimista?

Oom-pah-pah! Oom-pah-pah!
That's how it goes

As usual, people here only hear what they want to hear.

Low intelligence, I reckon. And probably don't know that the state of Israel was run by terrorists who had been killing British citizens. And Likud = Irgun.

Oh come on, children, it's a no-brainer to see that Israel are out of order, whatever one's views of the Middle Eastern conflicts.

Nice to see that Caroline Lucas is amongst the top tweets on #FreedomFlotilla

Freedom of speech is brilliant. Just allow people to say what they want, without advocating violence and their true identity will out.

Who would have thought we had an antisemite on the forum?

Disappointing.

I came here from peakoil.com to get away from their rabid anti-Semitism.

Oh well .....

Just saw the video on the news.

The Israelis were set upon very nastily by the 'peace' activists.

Personally if I saw a colleague being beaten with metal bars I might also be tempted to fire to save him.
