John Prescott made a peer

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Keir Hardie would have been proud to see how far the Labour Party has come.

But the House of Lords is going to be replaced by a wholy elected second chamber. O dear. What a pity. Never mind.

Will he vote against it?

At least he (was) working class. Recently almost all labour Ministers have been grammar or public school ****s who never did a physical days work in their lives.

That gives them a proper perspective to their ability to patronise and betray the working class. See: the last 13 years.

As an aside, John Major was the first ex PM not to take a peerage.

I love that quip from Have I Got News...
-He used to work for Cunard
-Really? He still works quite hard...

Are you sure you've got the spelling right? It could be Brighton, Blackpool or many other seaside places .

I think John Prescott's a pretty decent guy - worked hard on climate before it was fashionable.

Didn't Churchill decline a peerage too?

Odd how no one since Thatcher has gone for a peerage - Major, Blair or Brown.

And yet has any PM in history ever made as many peers as Tony Blair? Probably not.
