The voting has started already (I voted yesterday for a hung parliament). Worth keeping in mind that in 2005 over 12% voted by post.

It would seem that the business community aren't happy about the prospect of a hung parliament.

Rubbish. Pure Tory scaremongering. If business, the markets and currency traders were really worried we would have seen the FTSE250 and Sterling bomb by now.

As it is, the FTSE250 has gone up this past month (and past 3 months) and Sterling has strengthed against the Euro and the US dollar!

Plenty of City-types have been saying that a coalition government (that is, a hung parliament) would be good for the economy. Again, the Lib Dems are on the money here with what they have said about this.

No, Lord Handlebum has bagsed the Foreign Sec's job (not joking here, I heard it on the radio this morning!), Clegg Home Sec, Cable Chancellor, and Alan Johnson PM.

That was a speculation of course on a Lib-Lab coalition, unless someone was revealing something deeply secret.

And talking of deeply hung parliaments, could someone do me a cartoon of Brown and Cameron as deeply frustrated lovers in bed with a smiling Clegg, grinning from ear to ear, interjected between them? - a comment on the old cosy two-party system that the Lib Dems are thwarting.

BBC News - 26/04/10

The war of words has intensified over the possibility of a hung parliament after the general election.

The Conservatives said that, if no party gained a majority in the Commons, it would "paralyse" the UK's economy and create a political "stitch-up".

But Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said it could usher in political reform and end the "preposterous" current system.

Labour's Gordon Brown argued it was "arrogant" to discuss Westminster deals before voting happens on 6 May.

Opinion polls continue to suggest no party will gain an overall majority in the election, the first time this would have happened in the UK since 1974.

The Tory Party - the Party of fear over hope - have a new party political broadcast that will air tomorrow. It is done as a PPB by the "Hung Parliament Party". Ye Gods!

This despite Lib-Con coalitions at local level up and down the country and the Tory's "Big Society" idea (allowing decision making down to local level) where there will of necessity be "coalitions" of all sorts.

What a bunch of tossers!

Cameron has now declared that he has set his sights on labour seats previously thought to be safe. I think this is a tactical mistake. I suspect that it may have the opposite effect to that which is intended...it will alert voters in such seats to the possibility of the tories sneaking in and provoke tactical voting and increased turnout to prevent it from happening. It would have been a better tactic to keep quiet and try to snatch them unexpectedly.

Cameron has blown it, I think.

If that's what really happens, it will just prove that the politicians are just in it for themselves, and don't give a toss about the people who vote for them.

They are elected to do the job of running the country on our behalf. If we tell them they should work together, they should bloody well get on and do it.

I've just been phoned up by ICM. They wanted to know who I was going to vote for. I told them libdem, even though I'm actually going to vote tactically for labour and my heart is really with the greens. Tactical poll-response!

Based on your post code, your name, your age etc they will be able to determine your TRUE intentions from your STATED intentions.

Well,, maybe not YOU 100% accurately - but in the aggregate, yes.

Well,, maybe not YOU 100% accurately - but in the aggregate, yes.

They can't release poll figures based on my supposed true intentions. The poll has to be of people's stated intention, otherwise it would be illegal.

I don't think polling companies go in for self doubt much. If they did, they'd have to give up.

I think the polling companies allow for a small number of respondents telling porkies in the +/- 3% margin of error.
