Electric assist fitted to pedicabs

Our transport is heavily oil-based. What are the alternatives?

(An ex-neighbour of mine). 39kmph average speeds is more than 20mph and travel is entirely safe.

That by a middle aged bloke with a beer belly. Electric assist is an option, but why bother?

...on the nice cycle paths in the Netherlands. Even in Milton Keynes, where we do have cycle paths, they are interrupted by road crossings every few hundred metres, and here the cars have right of way...

Hmmm...a distinct lack of people, less traffic, a bit of courtesy, good surfaces, good weather...

Looks great though! Way to go... 8)

There's nothing surprising about the speed in a faired recumbent on a flat surface but this thing is only safe on a reserved track. It is difficult to turn your head to see what is coming up behind when you ride leaning back. Even if the rider could turn there is a bit of trike body behind which contributes to the good aerodynamics but stops him seeing anything behind. The machine as shown needs mirrors and some lights would be a good idea also.

I think I mgiht prefer the motorized Segway that GM is helping to develop (unless this is one of the cuts coming out of bankruptcy)
