Meanwhile, yes they'll be paying SHW generators for heat generated. Domestic ones which are too fiddly to put heat-meters in all of them, will apparently be "deemed" to produce a certain amount of heat energy given type, area (m^2) and location, and given ROCs accordingly. Well that was the last I heard anyway.

Question is, will they do it for kit that's already installed? And if not, isn't that going to sabotage the SHW industry??

PS, Ah, on page 79 it says

Introducing clean energy cash-back
schemes so that people and businesses
will be paid if they use low carbon
sources to generate heat or electricity,
meaning a household with a well-sited
solar panels could receive over £800 plus
bill savings of around £140 a year.

And on page 87

A new Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
that will significantly ramp up the level
of support available from April 2011.
This will provide households, communities
and businesses with payment for getting
their heat from renewable sources. The
scheme will cover industrial through to
domestic scale heat production. The
Government will consult on the detailed
design of the Renewable Heat Incentive
later this year.

So no breath holding then.

We've just signed up with them as energy supplier - don't have SHW yet though, so can't report back on how good they are at that.
