However.
I forget who but someone clever said that each western nation should offer a home to a disposessed by global warming Bangldeshi family for each 10000tons of CO2 that it has emitted. The UK tops the league for per capita CO2 emission to date. Stand by to open the borders as the sea level rises. It's only fair.
Hopefully Nigel Ferago will have retired to the safety of the Maldives.
I dont actually disagree with that sentiment at all but clinging on to a "euro dream" (i'm not trying to be chippy, i cant currently think of better words at the moment) and pretending that everything is fine with the institution because it gives the green party a voice is probably not a long term solution.
If the whole thing is that bad then what real, actual prospects for change will come out of it.
"Oh, its corrupt, controlled by big business, undemocratic but we got a few policies through" is not ultimately going to tackle climate change in any real terms.
Im not anti-european and worldwide cooperation, in fact i'm all for it.
The current system in place at the moment appears to stink though.
I bet that german green MEP on the video makes all sorts of claims about how the EU will fight climate change too, whilst fiddling her expenses because up to 14000 euros a month is not enough to reimburse her for her commitment to change.
