Growing Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea)

Post by Unbuntu »

I am thinking about growing this for a learning experience with gardening, and just because I want to try to grow some good tea. I found many articles about growing, harvesting and how to easily make green, black and oolong teas at home.

I don't think I can go post-peak without my morning noon and evening fix, so problem solved! If I can grow it that is

Thanks for the links Pat! Here's another one which might be of interest to you:

I was thinking of doing something simmilar here in the UK, but my knowledge is not yet up to scratch. It would make a great business post PO! I think there's already a farm doing just that down in Cornwall and selling their produce for an extortionate price in Fortnum & Mason's, or somewhere simmilar...

Anyway, I wish you a great New Year's across the Atlantic, and goodluck with the tea growing! Let me know how it goes!
They say an intelligent person knows how to solve problems that a wise person would know how to avoid... Think about it in the context of our society for a moment

This seems like a more condensed version than the links that I posted, I like it!

I am hoping to try to grow from seed, but I worry about my novice gardening status.
